The Nikolai Mushegian Foundation aims to carry on the legacy of Nikolai, an idealist and inventor who worked hard to make a positive contribution to the world. Nikolai was a software engineer celebrated in the field of decentralized governance and smart contracts, contributing to many open-source projects. He was a loving and beloved son and brother who is dearly missed by his family. Those who knew him remember his honesty, kindness and pursuit of meaning. Nikolai was a philanthropist funding research in computer science and biology. Nikolai's dream was to ensure fairness and reduce suffering for all people and other living creatures.
In alignment with Nikolai's values, the Foundation will fund projects related to environmental conservation and restoration, mental health support, and the intersection of the two: finding ways to bring peace and grounding to people through non-exploitative contact with the natural world. The long-term goal of this work, in Nikolai's memory, is to attempt to tilt the balance of forces on this planet toward those enabling benevolence and flourishing.
